Dayton Ohio Wedding Photographer Captures Michaella and Alex

I have been looking forward to being Alex and Michaella’s wedding photographer all year.   I loved the rolling hills and scenic drive from Dayton to Waynesville, the location for their big day.  You might recognize her parent’s beautiful horse farm from their engagement session.  Click here!

Michaella is GORGEOUS and sweet as can be.  Alex is charmingly handsome and has a great soul.  They are so loving and completely comfortable together.   I think we can all agree they make an adorable couple.  It’s a joy to be around them.   I think I heard one of the bridesmaids say, “OMG….they are so stinkin cute!”   Um yep!   I think that pretty much sums them up 😉

We started the day in Michaella’s parents’ stunning home.  The plan was to have the ceremony on their property.  Both of Michaella’s sisters had their wedding ceremonies there as well.   The reception was set for a different location that was being renovated over the winter.   Sadly a few weeks before the wedding they found out the reception location would not be ready as planned!  Hello, stress!!!!  I would have freaked out a little…wouldn’t have you??

Lucky for them, the family property is so gorgeous with plenty of space to have a tent and hold the reception.  They were already working with the amazing wedding planner Stephanie.   With some extra effort the entire wedding and reception was now set for one location instead of two.  It ended up working perfectly.  Guests were greeted with a beautiful guest book display set on Michaella’s Grandfathers’ vintage blue pickup truck.  It was such a sweet way to honor him.  Another special part (or treat I should say) were the delicious homemade pies.   These were handmade by her loving mom in lieu of wedding cake.   (Can you imagine making 15 pies on top of the reception location change???) Cherie….you are my hero!  They were all blessed with a beautiful 82 degree, non-humid day in the middle of August, which is not the norm for Southwest Ohio.

Without further ado….here are my favorite highlights.   I can’t wait for you all to see 🙂

Dad’s first look at his baby girl bride.I cannot photograph a wedding alone.  I always have another photographer/assistant with me.   Jenny took so many amazing shots throughout the day including these of Alex getting ready!   Thank you again Jenny for being my person, right hand lady and trusty sidekick for the day! Giving her old pup some love.  This sweet dog is 14 if I remember correctly.First look time.  See how cute they are!!!!AND….they can pull off serious too!!!Yep….she walked barefoot down the aisle!  I love me a country girl!!!Stunning!That is one fine looking wedding party!This is Colten!  Michaella’s nephew.  And quite possibly the cutest ring bearer there has ever been.The bride and groom did washed each other’s feet while the string quartet played “How Great Thou Art.”  Not going to lie…I got choked up.   It was so humbling and beautiful.Entertainment unlimited and Cady Vance created this beautiful reception.They did a mash up of songs including “You’re the One that I Want” and “The Time of My Life.”  If you know the dances from the movies you can see they nailed it!
They even did the lift!I was on cloud nine getting to take them out for golden light photos.I couldn’t resist having them play on the swing set for a few shots!How cute is Grandma???    Michaella then asked for a three generation picture of their hands.  I’m so glad she did!!!

Alex and Michaella…..thank you SO much for having us capture your lovely day!  I wish you two a life of health and happiness together!  Hugs!!!
