Howdy!!!! Notice any changes here??? I finally got the facelift I’ve been dreaming of, working on and visualizing for my new blogsite! I want to take a moment and send a shout out and give credit to the gentleman who created my amazing logo! THANK YOU Ryan at Second Street Creative! You did an outstanding job and I love it!
This project actually started almost 3 years ago!!! I know…you might be thinking…that’s a long time. I started to get really frustrated with myself that I was having trouble making decisions about how exactly I wanted my new logo and site to look and feel….along with all the time involved to create it. I’ve had the logo ready from Ryan for quite sometime…..it was just time for me to finish putting together my site. Now that it’s all come together I’m absolutely loving it and I’m okay with how long it took. Besides…who needs to be that hard on themselves??? My mom kept reminding me all that has happened in the last 3 years…..and well…there has been a lot! We’ve sold a house and bought a house, moved twice, been blessed with the birth of our second daughter along with other close family and friends having babies….and we’ve also suffered the loss of loved ones, in our immediate family along with distant family and friends. I also enjoy being a “most of the time” stay at home mom (i stay home with them about 90% of the time) Along the way I’m constantly trying to find the appropriate balance between how keep the home life and the business life both alive and thriving! My pediatrician told me recently “remember… a few years from now…your children won’t even want to be around you!” Although that’s a little depressing to try and think about….It’s most likely true. For now I’ll continue loving as many moments as I can with these sweet girls (and my loving husband) as long as possible and remind myself it’s okay to only accept a limited number of weddings and sessions each year. I’ll be able to shoot more down the road when these girls don’t need me as many hours out of the day. Or when they don’t want to play legos, dress-up or have silly random dance parties in the living room. I’m trying not to get depressed as I’m typing here 😉 Here is a much needed update of the last 5 months!
Here we are at Easter
A little egg dyingWe have a loving yellow lab Maggie….who’s already 10 1/2 years old. I’m trying to cherish moments with her everyday too!Love how we went for a walk and I brought my big camera?? Yet I only brought one lens…the 50mm and I thought for sure I could capture all the shots I envisioned in my head perfectly to document our big trip around the block. Lens choice FAIL!!! lol. But I sort of love how it turned out anyway….if you look closely you can see the Andy walking maggie, Evie and of course…Josie’s eyes!!! lol. (side note….the iphone works well about 80% of the time for this busy mom)Josie’s “One year” session. She is just now starting to slowly pick up the walking thing. Let’s just say she has been my pretty easy…laid back baby!Birthday party time. These two have winter birthdays 3 weeks apart and they fall right after the holidays….so we do a joint party. Here they are waiting for some cup cakes!I made these! I’m sort of obsessed with making themed cake pops when I get the chance….wish they didn’t take so long to make. Andy and I were blessed to take a belated 10 year wedding anniversary trip to Riviera Maya in Mexico. We stayed at the wonderful El Dorado Casitas! Aren’t these rooms adorable! A huge thank you to my mom and Andy’s parents for watching the girls while we got to spend a week in paradise. We took an excursion one day to the Mayan ruins of Coba. It’s one of the few you can actually climb. Such an incredible experience. total selfie fail on the big camera! Shoulda just done the iphone!!! lol! It’s that cool? The food at this place was 5 star and we love food! let’s just say we came back heavier on the plane than when we left.
